Ron has 20 years of experience as a project manager, environmental regulatory specialist, and biologist for projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Texas, and Utah. He specializes in providing clients with natural resources-related regulatory support primarily with regard to the Clean Water Act (CWA); Endangered Species Act (ESA); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); and state, county, and local requirements. He has directed and completed baseline vegetation inventories and is also experienced in special status plant species surveys and habitat evaluations; avian surveys, nest searching and monitoring; fish surveys; small mammal trapping; and special status amphibian and reptile survey/collections. Ron joined the WestLand team in 2020 and brings with him an expertise of field surveys and habitat evaluations for special status plant and animal species; preparation of Biological Evaluations (BEs) and Biological Assessments (BAs); native plant and noxious weed inventories; and public scoping and preparation of Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).
Ron earned his B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Fish and Wildlife Management in 1990 and his Masters of Science in Biology from Northern Arizona University.
