Susan Gilbert has spent the last 30 years as a professional engineer specializing in water resource projects and leading interdisciplinary teams. Most recently, Susan volunteered as a Strategic Advisor to the CEO of Water for People, whose mission is to “to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments.” To date over 12 million lives across Asia, Africa, and the Americas have benefited from the efforts of Water for People. Prior to that, Susan served as a Senior Vice President at Carollo Engineers where she was responsible for leading strategic pursuits and special assignments. In addition, Susan spent over twenty years serving professional consulting engineering firms in senior leadership roles including HDR’s Director of Program and Project Delivery, and Senior Vice President, West Region Water Business Director, and Central Region Water Business Director.

Susan has led teams to continuous success exceeding annual operation and business development goals. She is a leader in long-term strategic planning and annual tactical planning. Susan takes a hands-on approach to developing win strategies, coaching, mentoring, and leading teams while coordinating across business sectors.
