WestLand is pleased to announce that Avi Buckles has been named as Director of Cultural Resources. Avi succeeds Fred Huntington, who has assumed his new role as Senior Cultural Resources Consultant as he reduces his hours and eases into retirement.
Avi began his career at WestLand in 2004 and was named as an Associate shareholder in 2016. His research focus is historical archaeology and Southwestern mining and ranching history. His passion is mining history, and Avi has produced detailed mining landscape studies and multi-media public presentations that integrate field archaeology, archival research, and oral-history to help manage legacy mining operations. From small development projects to large complex data recoveries, Avi combines business skills, archaeological knowledge, and attention to client and agency needs to successfully manage cultural resources projects.
Congratulations, Avi on this well-deserved promotion!
